And then the finale - Peru. My sister and brother-in-law joined us for the final leg of our journey. Starting in Lima, we spent the day walking along the beach and through the colorful streets of Miraflores and Barranco neighborhoods.

We rented a car and arrived at our very cute and very cool hotel, Lodge Quelana. We spent the next day driving around and it felt like we were on Mars.

As we approach the end of the year and reflect back on our journey (thus far), we have much to be thankful for. This experience has been an amazing one to say the least. Our willingness to see what else is “out there” has opened both E and I in ways we couldn’t have imagined at the outset and given us something even more valuable, a new perspective.

After a whirlwind 6 months abroad, AJ and I decided to spend the fall in the US in order to spend time with our families and friends. One thing we also wanted to do while we were here, was explore our own country a little more than either of us had in past. So after a month in New York and a few weeks in St. Louis, we once again loaded up into an RV for a road trip across the US to explore our National Parks in southern Utah and Northern Arizona.
